AADNEVIK is a London based luxury womenswear label as a design partnership between Hila and Kristian Aadnevik, whose defining themes are a blend of opulence, sensuality and gloom. The brand is currently at a steady growing position with a strong customer base amongst the celebrity and elite society, stocking in key cities worldwide. Celebrities include: Rihanna, Beyonce, Kendall Jenner, Kaia Gerber, Halle Berry, Kelly Gale, Gizele Oliveira, Rita Ora, Jasmine Tookes, Victoria Justice, Chanel Iman, Sofia Richie, Alessandro Ambrosio, Audry Marnay, Daphne Groeneveld, Stelle Maxwell, Olivia Palermo, Camila Cabello, Lily Aldridge, Sara Sampaio, Frida Aasen, Candice Swanpoel, Madison Beer, Leomie Anderson, Adriana Lima, Vanessa Hudgens, Winnie Harlow, Maria Borges, Taylor Hill, Nadine Leopold, Lara Stone, Lily Collins, Kylie Minogue, Georgia May Jagger, Lily Donaldson, Shakira, Holland Roden, Madonna, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Naomie Harris, Jourdan Dunn and many more.
The company’s essence is driven by values such as tradition, passion, nature, vision and hard work, but above all by family ideals. Hence, the designers incorporated their workplace into their home with the arrival of their two sons Silver and Sterling, keeping their production line very close. The pair works at hand with their couture team at their London Atelier to create the luxury handcrafted garments.
The designers have managed to create a unique luxury concept blend between ready to wear and haute couture, offering a seasonal collection for exclusive stores through wholesale and with a made-to-measure service for clients who visit the atelier on a daily basis from all over the world. To do so, they have developed particular handcrafted production techniques differentiating their brand from other fashion houses with their own in-house production studio of pattern makers and seamstresses.
All patterns are built on the body, working with natural effeminate shapes, contrasting sharp cuts and soft layering and drapes. The design duo’s signature is defined by contrasting the soft and feminine with harder and darker elements; French lace from Solstisse forms a big part of the collections and is mixed with silk chiffon, tulle, feathers against leather craftsmanship, embellishments, boning and metal. Delicate cut-out lace comes with a waistline handcrafted in leather braiding techniques. Mixing leather with delicate materials is one of many techniques that can only be achieved at this level by having our own specialized in-house production. The passionate non-compromise production where design, technique and materials are never economized or simplified makes our brand stands out and captivate.
Hila Aadnevik is a self-taught designer. Growing up with a designer father allowed Hila from a very early age to be exposed to design, patterns, leather, embellishments and wide variety of hand craftsmanship. Hila always accompanied her father to his factory where she influenced the design process. Hila has a background designing high-end jewellery, although her biggest dream was to have her own fashion brand. Forming AADNEVIK in 2013 she could put all her design talent, technical construction skills and ambitions into practice. “One of the biggest rewards is to be able to create the designs on my own body, this enables me to feel and perfect the process from idea to the end product”
Kristian Aadnevik started with a technical background in tailoring before graduating in 2002 with a Master of Arts degree in Fashion Womenswear at the Royal College of Art in London. “If you know how to make the clothes, you will be a much better designer. I’m very hands-on and love getting involved in the patterns, cutting and showing the seamstresses how to finish the garments on the machine or by hand. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it”.
